Here's the secret I share with only my closest thrifter friends. Sprinkle each room with one focal piece that masquerades as a designer piece, but in reality is a great buy. The Carmen Chair is one of such pieces I own that definitely qualifies as a great buy, but fudges the masquerade part, because it truly has a designer look. Only my best buddies know that it didn't cost an arm and a leg, even if it looks like it does.

As an experienced neurosurgeon, I can easily afford extrCarmen collectiongant pieces of furniture from top designers. Go figure I choose to decorate with the Carmen collection on 1StopBedroom.com. The great price is a minor detail for me. I just really think the Carmen Chair and other pieces from this collection are nicer than what I've found elsewhere.
