Medium firmness, and the texture is fuzzy, soft. It has rubber pads to prevent slipping, and is heavy enough to stay in place. I realized that 2 squares basically makes a twin bed, so great for having multiple people sleepover if you have a set! I'm ordering more. Cons: Very low to the ground and no back support (more for lounging). The pillow and cushion are not attached and best used against a wall so they don't fall off the back. The zipper underneath is 'dainty', so best to treat as such
